Ms. Emily Brokaw

Ms. Brokaw is honored and excited to serve as the Assistant Principal of North Lake Early College High School! She grew up in Dallas and is a proud product of Dallas ISD schools, which motivates her to work to provide excellent learning experiences for Dallas students.

Emily spent six years teaching high school social studies courses at Hillcrest and Molina High School. During her time in the classroom she gained expertise in building students' literacy skills through historical content and cultivating students' abilities to be agentic learners. Due to her expertise, she has had opportunities to lead training on effective and engaging classroom instruction for educators at the district and national level. Prior to being named Assistant Principal, she served as Campus Coordinator, first at Molina High School and then at North Lake ECHS where she can have an even greater impact on students by supporting and coaching teachers. Ms. Brokaw is currently pursuing her Masters in Urban Educational Leadership at SMU.

When not working or in class herself, she loves to spend time with friends and family (including her dog Scout), travel, cook and read!
