Academic Experience

North Lake Early College High School is a partnership between the Dallas school district and Dallas College North Lake. This effort is designed to meet the needs of students who possess the academic potential and determination to begin college as early as ninth grade. By 10^th-grade, qualified students take classes for college credit and must maintain a 2.0 college GPA to continue to enroll in North Lake College classes. They must also self-manage their high school and college studies and demonstrate a positive effort toward earning their associate degree.

The pace and rigor of the Early College program requires students to master academic behaviors and acquire college skills earlier than their peers. While students come to North Lake Early College High School from a variety of schools and academic backgrounds, one trait unites them: the motivation to jump-start their college education through hard work.
